Caesarian sections, or C-sections, are the only emergency reproductive service that we offer at Strafford Vet Clinic.
In a perfect world we recommend a progesterone test a day or two before the due date to better predict when whelping will occur, or when an elective C-section will be needed. However, after years of experience, we understand that some females like to go into labor at the most inconvenient times, like after business hours.
We have a reproductive doctor on call during the hours that our office is closed if an emergency arises and a C-section is needed. To reach the doctor on call please call the clinic and wait for the answering service.
** There is an additional emergency fee for any after hours C-sections.**
