  • Dr. Jessica Handley
    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Jessica Handley grew up on a hobby farm in Marshfield, Missouri. She gained 15 years of experience spending much of her spare time in veterinary clinics volunteering and earning her way through high school and college. She studied at Ozark Technical Community College where she received her Associate of Arts Degree in 2011. She studied at Missouri State University earning a double major Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Animal Science with a minor in Chemistry in 2014. Her life-long career goals brought her to the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine were she graduated with a doctorate of veterinary medicine in 2019. She came back to Strafford Vet shortly after graduating and has been a crucial asset to our team ever since!

    Jennifer Leffel
    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Jen joined Strafford Veterinary Clinic in 2020. Her special interests are dermatology and radiology/ultrasound. Dr. Jen is originally from Wisconsin. She earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from MU College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017, and her Bachelors of Science in Animal Science in 2013 from UW Platteville. Dr. Jen and her significant other reside in the Strafford community with their two cats and two dogs, one of which is a French Bulldog, and the other is a Frenchton. She likes to read, draw, paint, and play video games in her spare time. 

  • Dr. Kenneth Mallard
    Owner

    'Doc' Mallard is the owner and operator of the Strafford Veterinary Clinic in Strafford.

    He was born and raised in Southwest Missouri and still calls it home today. Being raised around farming, he developed a love for animals at an early age. He was an active member in both 4H and FFA throughout high school, which led his decision to attend college and Veterinary School. Dr. Mallard graduated in 1997 with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri, in Columbia. Having graduated from vet school on a Friday, he opened the doors of Strafford Veterinary Clinic on the following Monday, where he continues to be blessed with many wonderful clients.

  • Dr. Megan Lemke
    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Megan joined Strafford Veterinary clinic in the summer of 2022. Her special interests are clinical pathology, nutrition, feline medicine, and whole body wellness. Dr. Megan is originally from Illinois. She earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from MU College of Veterinary Medicine in 2022, and her Bachelors of Science in Biology in 2018 from MSU with two minors in chemistry and creative writing. Dr. Megan and her significant other reside in the Springfield community with their three cats, one of which was adopted from the clinic. She likes to read, write, practice circus arts, and play board games in her spare time.
