Reproductive exams are recommended for all of our breeding patients, both male and female. This is an exam where our doctors will do a nose to tail exam with special attention to the reproductive anatomy to determine breeding soundness.
This is a great time to discuss breeding history, future breeding plans, and to ask any reproductive questions. A brucellosis test can also be done at this time. Based on the exam findings the doctor may want to do additional diagnostics such as thyroid testing or an ultrasound.
